How to troubleshoot some E-Catalog problems

General information

Unless you reinstall your operating system, move to a new computer or have been asked by customer service to do so you should never have to reinstall E-Catalog from the initial installer on this website.

The initial installer just contains the launcher program that in turn downloads all the files necessary to install and update E-Catalog.

How to fix a broken E-Catalog installation

If your E-Catalog shows it is out of date or you already know your E-Catalog has problems connecting to our servers you can skip ahead to the 'How to download a fresh copy of all E-Catalog files' section.

If E-Catalog still starts but gives an error message while loading data files, try the following:

  • Go to the E-Catalog installation folder (usually 'C:\Program Files\ECatalog V2' or 'C:\Program Files(x86)\ECatalog V2')
  • Right-Click on the 'Data' folder and rename it to 'Data.old'
  • Start E-Catalog again.

  • This should prompt E-Catalog to try to download a fresh copy of every data file necessary.

If the file download does not start and the program still crashes go to 'How to download a frsh copy of all E-Catalog files'

If the file download does start but E-Catalog still crashes try the following:

  • Go to the E-Catalog installation folder (usually 'C:\Program Files\ECatalog V2' or 'C:\Program Files(x86)\ECatalog V2')
  • Right-Click on the E-Catalog executable (shown as either 'E-Catalog' or 'E-Catalog.exe') and rename it to E-Catalog.old
  • Start E-Catalog again.

  • This should prompt E-Catalog to download a new version of the E-Catalog executable.

If E-Catalog cannot automatically download files from our servers you can follow these steps to update all necessary files manually.

  • Download an archive with all up-to-date E-Catalog files from http://www.bridgewoodcabinets.com.E-Catalog.zip and save it to your desktop or an easily accessible location.
  • Go to the E-Catalog installation folder (usually 'C:\Program Files\ECatalog V2' or 'C:\Program Files(x86)\ECatalog V2')
  • Open the downloaded .zip file in a separate file explorer window.
  • Open the E-Catalog folder contained in the .zip file
  • Copy the contents of this E-Catalog folder into the E-Catalog installation folder replacing existing files
  • Start E-Catalog again.

  • This should give you a fresh copy of all E-Catalog files and solve any problems.
